The first residential house in Germany to be built with a 3D concrete printer has won the German Innovation Award from the German Design Council. The two-storey single-family home in Beckum, North Rhine-Westphalia, with around 160 m2 of living space consists of multi-layered walls filled with insulating material or ready-mixed concrete.

Green Premium for Cement
Bill Gates recently published his “green manifesto” in his latest book How to Avoid a Climate Disaster. He introduced the concept of “green premiums” or the differences in cost between a fossil-fuel-based way of doing something and the clean, non-emitting way of doing the same thing. According to Gates, the green premiums should be lowered.

The European Network for Silica (NEPSI) is formed by the Employee and Employer European sectoral associations which signed the Social Dialogue “Agreement on Workers’ Health Protection Through the Good Handling and Use of Crystalline Silica and Products Containing it” on 25 April 2006. These associations represent 15 industry sectors i.e. more than 2 million employees and a business exceeding € 250 billion.
