BIOGRAPHY

After graduated from Yıldız Technical University Department of Mechanical Engineering, Hakan Gürdal has received his master’s degree from Istanbul University Department of International Business Administration. Gürdal has received master’s degrees in business administration and economics following his graduation from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Gürdal has joined Çanakkale Çimento in 1992 and was appointed as Strategy and Business Development Manager in 1996 and Chief Commercial Officer in 1997 in Akçansa. After working as Chief Ready-Mixed Concrete, Aggregate Procurement and Logistics Officer, Gürdal was appointed as the General Manager on August 1, 2008.

Gürdal was appointed as Sabancı Holding Cement Group Chairman and Akçansa Çimento Board Chairman on September 1, 2014. He has resigned from the position of Cement Group President as of 16 October 2015.

He has been appointed Member of the Managing Board at Heidelberg Cement as of 1 February 2016. Since 1 April 2016, he has been in charge of the Africa-Eastern Mediterranean Basin Group area. Additionally, he is in charge of HC Trading.
